Braille Instruction
The reading and writing of Grade 1 & Grade 2 Braille is taught at the VIPS center. The instructor is Roxann Keys. She has 40+ years of experience using and teaching Braille. Braille is a means of communication for the blind and visually impaired utilizing a series of one (1) to six (6) raised dots-called a cell. In Grade 1 Braille the combination of one (1) to six (6) dots in each cell represents a single letter, number, or punctuation mark(s). Grade 2 Braille is a combination of Grade 1 Braille and new contractions which increase the rate of reading speed.
