Discover the Possibilities of Braille at VIPS!
At Visually Impaired Persons Support (VIPS), we believe that learning opens doors to greater independence, confidence, and connection. That’s why we’re excited to offer FREE Braille classes. Whether someone is newly experiencing vision loss or looking to build on their existing skills, Braille can be a valuable tool for everyday life, literacy, and independence. Our classes provide students with the opportunity to learn, practice, and grow in a supportive environment.
In the month of October, we are offering instruction for beginning students on Wednesday 10/14 and 10/28. And we hope to offer instructor for intermediate and advanced students, including Braille Writer classes, starting in November! Classes are free, but you must sign up in advance as spots are filling quickly!

Meet our Braille Instructor, Jacob Gaddam!
Braille instructor Jacob Gaddam works with students during a Beginning Braille class at VIPS, demonstrating Braille on a paper worksheet beside a Braille typewriter while students practice at their desks.
Jacob’s journey with VIPS began when he was just 15 years old. As a client, he worked with Mauricio to learn JAWS and other assistive technologies that helped him succeed in school and prepare for the workplace. Today, Jacob has come full circle as a member of the VIPS team!
Proficient in Braille, Jacob offers instruction in Grade 1, Grade 2, and Unified English Braille (UEB), supporting students at a variety of skill levels.
We’re thrilled to welcome Jacob to the VIPS family as he shares his knowledge and helps others discover new opportunities through Braille. His journey is a wonderful example of how the right support and skills can empower individuals to pursue greater independence.
